Provide an Advanced Training Opportunity
for Internationally Educated Health Care
Professionals
The Bridging Program for Massage Therapy
(BPMT) is recently initiated by Royal
Canadian College of Massage Therapy (RCCMT).
The mission of RCCMT is to provide
excellent programs to meet Canadian’s
nature health needs and to maintain the
highest standards of education and
training in massage therapy. The
objective of the BPMT is to bridging
internationally educated healthcare
practitioners to gain accreditation in
order to practice as a Massage
Therapists in Canada.
加拿大皇家按摩疗法学院最近推出的专业按摩师桥梁项目是专门为有健康医疗背景的国际专业人士设计的。加拿大皇家按摩疗法学院的使命是为满足加拿大天然健康的需要提供最高标准的按摩疗法教育和培训。该学院增设的专业按摩师桥梁项目是为国际教育背景的医疗从业人员获得加拿大的职业认可，以作为按摩治疗师执业。
The BPMT is an advanced intensive
training program for qualified
international professionals. It requests
the program participants go through a
credential assessment and
portfolio-based evaluation process. Only
those who meet the requirements on
individual bases are qualified to attend
this program. A condensed professional
communication course will be provided to
help those, whose English is an obstacle
for taking the course and passing the
exam.

Need Assessment 需求背景
The most recent statistics show that
immigrants are settling in increasing
numbers in Canada, many bring with them
higher education, invaluable health care
skills and holistic health work
experience. However, many of these
professionals ended up in
non-professional jobs irrelevant to
their education and trainings. At the
same time Canadians face difficulties to
access health care and quality services.
The BPMT is designed to bridging the
need gap and to provide a pathway for
internationally educated professionals
to gain Canadian credentials and clinic
practices in massage therapy.

Bridging Program按摩师桥梁项目
The BPMT is an advanced intensive
training program for qualified
international professionals.
按摩师桥梁项目是一个为合格的国际专业人员所设密集式教学实习的高级培训计划，学习时间为一年。包括以下三个方面:
Course Learning 课程攻读. The program
participants will learn the body of
knowledge and techniques of massage
therapy. In addition to study general
anatomy, pathology and physiology in the
class settings, they will learn Canadian
law and ethics for health professionals
and also take the professional
communication course for increasing
clinic competency.

Clinic Practices 行医实践. The program
participants will have opportunities to
take clerkship and fieldtrips to Medical
Laboratories, Cadaver Laboratories,
Hospitals, Corporate Office, Rehab
Clinics and Sorting facilities, in order
to enhance employability and career
development.

Exam Preparation考试准备. In order to meet
professional and measurable working
standards for massage therapy, program
participants need to pass the exam in
clinic settings and in computer
generated exam. The BPMT program will
provide stimulating settings to prepare
the participants to pass the exam.

Qualification for BPMT桥梁项目资格认证
The BPMT offers two streams of advanced
standing program to the qualified
individuals in massage therapy
accreditation. The program participants
for these streams will be assessed for
based on the following conditions:

Massage Therapy for Internationally
Educated Health Care Practitioners
国际健康医疗工作人员学历学位证书
Qualified individuals should have
Diplomas or certificates of Doctor of
Medicine (MD), Doctor of Chinese
Medicine (DCM), Doctor of Naturopathic
Medicine (ND), and Doctor of Osteopathic
Medicine (DO).
符合资格认证者具有如下文凭或证书:医学博士（MD），中医（DCM），自然疗法医师（ND），骨医学师（
DO ）。
2) Massage Therapy for Second Career of
International Professionals
国际专业人士高等教育学历学位证书加相关健康培训或工作经历
Qualified individuals should have
graduate certificates from a recognized
Bachelor of Science, Master of Science
or PhD Program, and show evidence of
additional health professional related
trainings and working experience in
health professional related fields
拥有国际专业人士高等教育的学士，硕士或博士学历学位证书,并具有并其它健康卫生专业的培训或相关健康领域中的工作经验
Enrollment Requirements入学条件
Photocopies of relevant Certificates,
Diplomas, Trainings, and related work
experience portfolio

Two Letters of Reference must clearly
state all of the following aspects:
relationship with the referees, the
referee’s qualification of health care
and related professional knowledge, and
the referee’s trustworthy,
professionalism and work ethics

精神,人品和职业道德

Through the Bridging Program for Massage
Therapy, Royal Canadian College of
Massage Therapy will undertake the
process of international accreditation
and certification assessment for the
intensive training program. The College
will host two open information sessions
in order to provide interested
individuals to tour the College and
answer questions (translation will be
provided) .
